Reversing Pseudonymization

Files or Plain Text

As you may have read in previous sections, the pseudonymization of files—or even plain text—is a fully reversible process. This means you can recover the pseudonymized information, as long as you follow the steps and meet the conditions required by Nymiz.

Entering the security password and keeping the original name of the pseudonymized file are both essential to successfully revert the pseudonymization process in Nymiz—something that is not possible with anonymization.

Once your file or text has been pseudonymized, you can begin the reversion process by following the steps shown in the video tutorial below.

IMPORTANT: In the case of handwritten or digital signatures, barcodes, and QR codes, the process is completely irreversible. This means the specific data cannot be recovered once the pseudonymization reversion has started.
