# Plain text anonymization

## Anonymization or Pseudonymization

With Nymiz, you can quickly and easily process free text. In just a few clicks, you’ll obtain the desired anonymized result, ready to export or copy into an email, document, or any other format.

All you need to do is select the **Plain Text** option in your Nymiz account, choose the procedure (**Anonymization or Pseudonymization**), the substitution method (**Masking, Tokenization, or Substitution**), and your preferred configuration, to generate a newly anonymized text.

To better guide you through the process, below you’ll find a short video tutorial showing how to anonymize content using the **“PlainText”** option.

**IMPORTANT:** When choosing between anonymization and pseudonymization, you must understand that anonymization is an irreversible process. Once data has been anonymized, it cannot be recovered.
