Custom configuration
Exceptions and infotypes
With Nymiz, you can fully customize your anonymization process. Simply select the types of data you want to anonymize—such as names of individuals or organizations, emails, postal addresses, dates, etc.—and define specific words and/or data you want to exclude or include. This way, you can fine-tune anonymization down to the smallest detail.
To do this, go to the Configuration section in the left-hand menu of the tool, where you can create, view, or edit your lists of infotypes or exceptions. These can then be applied during the anonymization process.
You might be wondering: What exactly are infotypes or exceptions, and how can I use them in my projects? Let’s break it down.
Exceptions
Exceptions are words or sets of words that are always omitted (positive exceptions) or always included (negative exceptions) during anonymization.
Example: If you want all company names to be anonymized except for “Nymiz,” you can create a new exception list and add “Nymiz” as a positive exception.
Infotypes
Infotypes refer to the categories of sensitive data that can be anonymized. Nymiz allows you to define exactly which types of data should be anonymized.
Example: If you want personal names to remain visible in a specific document, you can disable the PER infotype.
